Forty years ago, at age 3, Women & Children's Hospital saved my life when my pediatrican misdiagnosed my Juevnile Onset Insulin Dependent Diabetes. I was almost dead when another doctor told my parents to hurry me down to Women & Children's Hospital. This was in the mid 1970's, and the medical advances that exist nowadays for diabets, did not exist back then. Women & Children's Hospital brought me back from the edge of death.
I am forever grateful for the doctors and nurses who cared for me during the several weeks that I was there. This June, I celebrated 40 years of Juvenile Onset Insulin Dependent Diabetes and surviving it. I have been practicing Tae Kwon Do since May, and my son, Chris, has been practicing since January.
